Since I am bored.

Since I am so very bored right now, I think i will share my little pattern. I can not say for sure if anyone else has made this yet, but what i am saying i haven't seen it anywhere. Its a star made with buttons. This particular photo is the first one of a pair of earrings, I am sending to someone on facebook. Hopefully she doesn't read my blog, lol. So obviously i made these into earrings, but it can also be used for a necklace pendant. You can put more points on it, or less, or turn it lets start.

For the star:
5 buttons with either 2 or 4 holes

For a square or diamond
4 buttons with either 2 or 4 holes

For a hexagon
6 buttons with either 2 or 4 holes

* first ring are going to be 1-5+5-1 the join is at the button hole
** after first ring make sure to join at the 1st picot.
*** last ring is going to be 1+5+5+1 making sure to join to the 1st rings 1st picot!

for earrings using a 2 holed button, i put a large jump ring through both holes and a single jump ring joining those two then fastened to an earring hook.

for earrings using a 4 holed button, I just put a jump ring through the top hole and one jump ring through that and an earring.

To finish, you can glue or stiffen or just wet block, its up to you. I choose to glue with clear glue.

I hope you like it!

An interesting Meme

I don't have my kids today. Luckily they are at their gramas! So I cleaned a bit and oddly enough no tatting. I have been tatting and thinking about tatting, so i am kinda burnt out. But i think that i will tat something after i get everything done. But for right now is Sunday Stealing! I really liked this one so here it is:

Welcome back to Sunday Stealing originated on WTIT: The Blog authored by Bud Weiser. Here we will steal all types of memes from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent memes. You may have heard of the expression, “honor amongst thieves”. In that age-old tradition, we also have our rules. First, we always credit the blog that we stole it from and we will “fess up” to the blog owner where we stole the meme. We also provide a link to the victim's post. (It's our way of saying "Thanks!") We do sometimes edit the original meme, usually to make it more relevant to our global players, to challenge our players, sometimes to select that meme's best questions, or simply to make it less repetitive from either this new meme or recently asked questions from a prior featured meme. Let's go!!!

Today we ripped off a blogger named and blog named Mignight Murdina of the blog Not All That Wander Are Lost. This meme was meant to be done with one question a day for 7 days. We are bad at following rules. So we will do it in a day! It is stated that it was “ganked” from Karaokegal. But, it was probably stolen there as well. So, of course, that will be as far as we go. Tracing back our theft's thieves might take some time. Link back to us at Sunday Stealing!

Sunday Stealing: The Seven Deadly Sins Meme

Cheers to all of us thieves!

LIARS, deceivers, attitude for NO reason (attitude with reason is OK), bad drivers, snobs, my boyfriend not listening to something that will ultimately help him, did i say LIARS.

4 - Sloth. Seven things you neglect to do.

my expedition!

Man what a night. Tonight Anthony needed to be at work at midnight. Lucky that the place was no where new. I already knew where it was. The trouble came afterward. I hopped onto the wrong freeway, went almost all the way to my OLD apartment before it clicked that i was so totally on the wrong freeway. Now if you know the Sacramento area you know about business 80 and I-80. well i wound up on I-80. So ALL the way from Northgate back to Watt then to the right freeway onto home. Above all! the most frustrating part is i can't even tell Anthony till tomorrow, cause he forgot to grab the emergency cell for my way home, so he gave me his. So I can't even contact him.

And then we got home. Home, Home, Home. I live in an apartment. I have an outside door plus my own front door.....well i went and got a key from walmart for it, cause Anthony had the only one. It didn't work. So we asked the apartments to make one for me. Until tonight i hadn't used it...We got home!. My key didn't first. See apparently there is a trick to the stupid door, which means that my key will probably pretty key. But i was so scared that i was going to have to call my downstairs neighbor to save me again. Now obviously I don't want to do that to her luckily it worked...

All I have to say is, I am the most lucky and grateful person on the earth right at this moment.

I shall call you squishi, and you will be my squishi!

Apparently lack of sleep is a good thing. Since getting the van, there were two times i needed to wake the kids up at 4:30 AM to pick up Anthony. to me a bit unfair, but i understand and that's why i do it, did it. Needless to say i have been more tired than usual. But it spawned three patterns. THREE patterns. The first one i am going to unveil right now in this post. The thing is that the first one that i wanted to share with y'all was a bit unstable, so i need to go back and work on it. Both of the patterns are bears, variations of pretty much the same bear. So the first one....Her name is Squishi. Named by my dear sister. SO here's Squishi.

To me she is kinda creepy. There was nothing really special about her, she is done in rings and chains, Balanced double stitch and thrown off rings.

So information about BDS - balanced double stitch is here Jane calls it the double double stitch

A thrown off ring (TOR) is starting with a chain, then where you want the ring, you take the top shuttle and use it to make a ring, after closing the ring, you continue the chain like normal.

So here's the pattern

R1 5ds -5ds
C 7ds
R2 7ds +7ds (to R1)
C 6ds TOR (20 ds) cl
C 10ds TOR (20 ds) cl
C 6ds
R3 7ds +7ds (to R1)
C 7ds + (to base of R1)

R 20 BDS 4 picots 20 BDS cl carefully. it will be slightly difficult.
C 6ds TOR ( 6ds, 3 picots, 6ds)cl
C 10ds TOR (20ds) cl
C 4ds + 1ds + 1ds + 1ds + 5ds TOR (20ds)cl <---all joins here are lock joins.
C 10ds TOR (6ds, 3 picots, 6ds)cl
C 6ds + (to base of head)

Cut, tie and hide ends. or tie into a bow!

Voila! Squishi.

Next I have a star, but that will have to wait till I send them off to my exchange partner. TTYL!

Busy Busy Bees

I have been so busy, but busy in a good way. First, design! my sister actually helped me design a bear last night. Its a single shuttle bear, which means that its pretty difficult to do. There is SSSR and Split rings and thrown off rings and joins, and its pretty cool. I just need to work out the kinks. It really boosted her interest in tatting.

Second, I got a van, its so pretty, but there are things, as we go along, we find we need to fix or upgrade. Here is a photo.
We need to get new tires. But i am really excited. I really want to keep this van up, and not let it putter out like my mom did to her car.

My sister came over Monday and left today. My niece is very, too cute. Just like with Anavay... too cute i wanna kick. :) but don't...get real! lol

I received a desk from a friend that was broken and i fixed it. As i type i am at that desk. And it is very sturdy...I am so proud of myself for fixing it.

Well. I really actually need to go find some fun stuff for the kids to do... I'll hopefully post the bear pattern later this week.
